About us
Beccles Twinning Association was formed in September 1978, and was a popular town activity for many years promoting international understanding and friendship and winning national awards
In 2013, with the support of Beccles Town Council, the organisation changed. Currently a small working party of volunteers are continuing the tradition of visits and other exchanges between our twin and partner towns, Petit-Couronne in France and Ahlem in Germany.
According to thr Town Twinning Agreement business meetings are held 4 times a year and the Minutes are kept at the Town Hall where copies can be viewed by members of the public. Additional meetings are held as and when necessary.
Membership is fully inclusive and open to all. There is no fee to join, so we are reliant on grants and local fund raising activities. We are a group of volunteers working on behalf of Beccles Town Council and try and keep our costs as low as possible to encourage others
